Description
In Tyrol, an innovative funding program is available that specifically supports public institutions in rural areas in the sustainable development of their communities. By financing key projects in the areas of infrastructure, town center revitalization, building culture, cultural landscape, ecology, and public relations, lasting impulses are to be set. Since 2009, the responsible Department of Land Management has acted as the coordination office for the Local Agenda 21 and coordinates ongoing processes as well as new initiatives. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant and is permanently available – applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the project, while the State Advisory Board for Village Renewal meets at least four times a year and additionally as needed.
The target groups are municipal citizens and local representatives who wish to plan joint village renewal measures or projects of the Local Agenda 21. A prerequisite is an application submitted before construction begins and a positive resolution by the State Advisory Board. The application must include a detailed project description, a comprehensive cost estimate, a financing plan for additional grants, digital image material, plans and sketches, as well as information on input tax deduction eligibility. In the event of approval, a declaration of commitment must be submitted. The independent decision-making body monitors both the professional implementation and compliance with the guidelines to ensure efficient and future-oriented development of rural Tyrolean communities.
