ERDF 2021 - 2027 - Expansion of Research and Technology Infrastructure

ERDF 2021–2027 Expansion of Research and Technology Infrastructure in Burgenland purposefully supports the strengthening of research and innovation through targeted grants. The focus is on investments in the purchase and commissioning of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment as well as on the expansion and modernization of existing building structures. Both laboratory and ICT infrastructures in research and technology centers are funded to create high-performance environments for high-end analyses and development work. Another key focus is on the transfer of research results, which is realized, for example, through the establishment of new, research-intensive start-ups or the expansion of existing technology centers. The program activates long-term investments and offers open application opportunities starting January 1, 2025.

The targeted groups include research institutions, universities, and companies of all sizes operating in Burgenland. Carriers of research organizations can apply for grants for the construction, expansion, and modernization of buildings as well as for the acquisition and commissioning of laboratory facilities. The funding is provided as a direct grant and significantly contributes to bringing the regional scientific infrastructure up to date and unlocking innovation potential. With a total budget of €0.59 million, the program offers a unique opportunity to sustainably expand technological capacities and accelerate knowledge and technology transfer. Interested institutions can submit a funding application from early 2025, thereby laying the foundation for forward-looking projects.
