ERDF 2021 - 2027 - Strengthening Research and Transfer Competencies

The ERDF 2021 – 2027 for strengthening research and transfer competencies supports innovative research and technology projects in Burgenland. Educational and research institutions as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for funding in the form of grants to expand their competencies within the regional innovation ecosystem. The target group primarily includes research organizations and institutions that wish to implement cooperative projects together with economic actors. Applications are possible without time limitation from January 14, 2025, offering long-term planning security for all parties involved.

This funding strengthens scientific excellence and facilitates the transfer of research results into the economy. Through the targeted development of capacities, new fields of specialization and future-proof business ideas emerge, from which SMEs especially benefit by involving innovation-promoting experts and directly transferring research results into products and processes. Direct transfer and cooperation projects between science and industry are supported, as well as technology-oriented approaches to accessing new markets. Interested institutions can look forward to a clear application structure and reliable administration by the Burgenland Business Agency, which has served as the first point of contact for businesses since 1994 and manages funding in the triple-digit million range annually.
