Description
The program "EhAP Plus – Integration Helps Against Exclusion of the Most Disadvantaged Persons" is a nationwide funding initiative launched by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS). It targets non-profit organizations, public institutions, and companies that plan projects aimed at sustainably improving the living conditions of particularly vulnerable groups. The focus is primarily on newly arrived EU citizens, their children, as well as homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness. Through low-threshold measures such as outreach, counseling, support, and intercultural training, affected persons are to be connected with existing assistance services and their social participation promoted.
The funding is provided as a grant over a period of four years and includes a funding amount of up to 2,500,000 euros per project. Eligible expenses include, among others, personnel costs, material costs, travel expenses, and administrative costs, while structural investments such as land acquisition or interest on debt are excluded. Applicants must demonstrate their professional and administrative competence and submit a convincing cooperation concept with relevant partners – such as municipalities or other social work providers. Compliance with the economical use of funds and the sustainable impact of the measures are central evaluation criteria. Furthermore, the funding program requires adherence to cross-sectoral principles such as equality, anti-discrimination, and ecological sustainability.
Those interested in this funding are primarily actors from the fields of social affairs, health, and labor who wish to implement innovative, broadly effective projects for the integration of disadvantaged people. The two-stage application process begins with an electronic expression of interest, followed by a detailed application procedure in which financial plans and cooperation agreements must also be submitted. This support makes an important contribution to poverty reduction and the alleviation of social exclusion. Thus, the program offers not only financial resources but also a platform for professional exchange and networking among regional and local actors to jointly effect sustainable societal change.
