Description

Volunteering Digitized! is a funding program that supports non-profit organizations in Hesse in implementing digitalization measures in the area of internal administration. The program, initiated by the Hessian Ministry for Digitalization and Innovation, offers a grant to promote the acquisition of hardware and software as well as the implementation of training and instructional measures. The focus is on modernizing and optimizing internal processes, communication with volunteers, and recruiting new members. With a funding rate of up to 90 percent and a maximum grant amount of 15,000 euros, this program opens innovative avenues to sustainably digitalize administration in non-profit institutions.

The funding program is aimed at non-profit associations, Hessian umbrella organizations, and non-profit legal entities under private law that wish to future-proof their internal structures through modern digital technologies. Projects that involve the use of new hardware and software as well as accompanying training measures are eligible for funding. Additionally, services related to project implementation, such as consulting and support by external experts, can also be applied for. A prerequisite for funding is that the digitalization project is predominantly (at least 75 percent of eligible expenses) invested in internal administration, that the organization’s headquarters are in Hesse or the measure is carried out there, and that the overall financing of the project is secured.

The initiative thus supports a sustainable transformation process within organizations by not only modernizing technical equipment but also strengthening the professional competence of employees in handling digital technologies. Through targeted funding, workflows are simplified, data is better secured, and the efficiency of internal communication is improved. Furthermore, the program makes a significant contribution to strengthening volunteering by creating the framework for innovative and forward-looking administrative processes. The practical digitalization approaches help organizations make their administrative structures fit for the digital future and thereby fulfill their non-profit mission more effectively in the long term.
