Description
The Taunusstein Citizens' Foundation honors outstanding voluntary commitment with the Taunusstein Citizens' Foundation Volunteer Award 2026 in the fields of social affairs, culture, environmental/nature conservation, education, sports, migration, as well as work & social affairs, culture & media, and energy efficiency & climate protection. Individuals, groups, or initiatives from the Hesse region who have dedicated themselves sustainably and intensively to the common good in Taunusstein will be recognized. The award is endowed with a total amount of €5,000 and may be allocated proportionally among multiple recipients. The aim of the award is to highlight exemplary dedication for various target groups—from youth to seniors, migrants, and people in need—promote role model character, and honor long-term commitment.
Applications can be submitted between March 15 and June 15, 2026, and require a fully completed application form as well as a concise presentation of the special achievements (max. 1 DIN A4 page). It is a prerequisite that the activities are continuous, not one-time, voluntary engagements and that there is no membership in elected representative bodies, trade unions, lay judge functions, or political parties. The jury—comprising representatives of the mayor, the foundation council, the board, and the sponsor Raimund Scheu—selects based on criteria such as the scope and intensity of the commitment, significance for the common good, sustainability, exemplary effect, transparency, and overall quality of the documents. The formal award ceremony will take place in autumn 2026. By applying, nominees consent to appropriate public relations activities to duly honor volunteer work in Taunusstein.
