Volunteer Award of the City of Überlingen

The Volunteer Award of the City of Überlingen honors outstanding civic engagement in Baden-Württemberg and recognizes individuals as well as groups who contribute in the categories of “Youth Engagement,” “Long-term Engagement,” or “Special Community Engagement.” The award focuses on young volunteers under the age of 27, long-standing contributors, and initiatives that enrich community life through exemplary individual actions. Voluntary and selfless efforts without profit motives within numerous club structures or project-related initiatives receive special recognition here. The regularly offered award ceremony acknowledges areas of commitment ranging from social cohesion to social affairs, culture, and sports, as well as migration and labor & social issues.

With the Volunteer Award, the City aims to motivate those engaged in voluntary work and to highlight the importance of voluntary commitment for the common good. The award not only provides public appreciation but also stimulates democratic action and strengthens long-term local participation. Eligible to apply are all persons residing in Überlingen who undertake a voluntary role without generating income. In particular, young active individuals under 27 years are invited to submit their achievements. The application documents should detail the engagement, the period, and the impact of the activity. Through the awarding of this prize, the City of Überlingen embraces the diversity of social initiatives and sustainably promotes cohesion within the community.
