Volunteer Award (Friends of the Protestant Home Foundation)

The Volunteer Award of the Friends of the Evangelical Heimstiftung has been honoring outstanding voluntary commitment in elderly care every two years since 2013, with a special focus on the diversity of participants. Nationwide, all volunteers of the Evangelical Heimstiftung who are passionately involved in the care, support, and social interaction in residential or outpatient care facilities can apply. The award emphasizes social cohesion and promotes democratic values by highlighting exemplary projects and individual initiatives.

A total prize money of €4,000 is awarded, distributed among various recipients and intended to be directly invested in the continuation or expansion of voluntary work. The evaluation particularly considers the diversity of activities – ranging from creative-cultural offerings to intergenerational meeting formats and digitally supported discussion groups – as well as the concrete contribution to improving the quality of life of seniors. Eligible to participate are private individuals who can demonstrate their involvement in elderly care within the framework of the Evangelical Heimstiftung. The award not only provides financial recognition but also offers a valuable platform to publicize projects and inspire sustainable development in the care sector.
