Description
The honorary membership of the Academy for Central German Polymer Innovations (AMK) in Saxony-Anhalt honors outstanding researchers in polymer sciences and plastics engineering. Nationally and internationally recognized scientists whose academic careers are closely linked to Merseburg or Halle, or who have significantly shaped regional polymer research through long-standing research collaborations, are honored with this award. By granting this honor, the AMK sends a visible signal of support for the Merseburg Plastics Competence Center (KKZ Halle-Merseburg) and emphasizes the importance of excellent research results for the advancement of science and innovation in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt.
All AMK members are entitled to submit a justified proposal to the Presidium. The decision is made by the Presidium in coordination with the Advisory Board. In addition to a detailed justification, a tabular curriculum vitae and a selected list of publications must be submitted. The evaluation particularly considers the long-term promotion of the Academy’s objectives, the close integration of the scientific career with regional polymer research, as well as verifiable activities in the foundation’s committees. Submissions are possible at any time; there are no fixed deadlines. The award is presented in the form of a certificate and symbolizes the high esteem of the AMK towards the nominated researchers.
