Installation of Security Doors in Apartments - Investment Grant

An investment grant of up to €400 per door leaf supports the installation of burglary-resistant apartment entrance doors in existing residential properties in Vienna. The aim of this funding is to improve burglary protection in primary residences and thus increase the safety of all residents. Applications can be submitted continuously, as long as the apartment is used as the primary residence and the building is generally at least 20 years old. Only door leaves that comply with resistance class 3 according to ÖNORM B 5338 or EN 1627, as well as the associated installation costs, are eligible for funding. Own labor and pure material costs are not considered, and the grant is not intended for terraced houses, small garden houses, or owner-occupied homes.

Interested tenants and apartment owners can access the procedure via an online form at the Municipal Department 50. For the application, an invoice for the eligible expenses, proof of compliance with the corresponding resistance class, and the written consent of the property owners must be submitted. Since the budget is not limited and applications can be submitted at any time, flexible planning options for modernization measures arise. With this funding, the City of Vienna contributes to a safe and socially balanced living environment by reducing investment barriers for security measures and thereby sustainably improving the security level in existing apartments.
