One-time Grants (Emergency Aid) – Erhard and Mady Keller-Budenberg Foundation for Young People

The Erhard and Mady Keller-Budenberg Foundation for Young People grants one-time financial aid monthly to individuals under 30 years of age residing in Berlin who are experiencing an acute emergency. Applications can be submitted at any time and are processed during the fourth calendar week of each month. Proof of primary residence in Berlin as well as age verification under 30 years is required. Furthermore, a detailed demonstration of the financial emergency is necessary to tailor the amount of support individually to the applicant’s life situation. All documents must be submitted as a PDF via email to enable a swift and unbureaucratic review.

The following documents are required for the application: a motivation letter or application, proof of need (e.g., unemployment benefit/Social Code notice or BAföG certificate), a statement of monthly income and expenses, a school or university enrollment certificate, if applicable a letter of endorsement, and the IBAN for payment. The funding is exclusively intended as one-time assistance in emergencies and is based on the actual needs of the individual case. Through financial relief, young adults are given the opportunity to bridge short-term gaps and regain independent stability.
