Installation of Backup Power Supply Systems

The funding supports non-profit organizations in Lower Austria in the installation and renewal of backup power supply systems at a total of 17 locations of the Austrian Red Cross. The goal is to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for vital services. These include emergency medical and rescue services, essential patient transports such as dialysis, major incident management, as well as disaster relief. Nursing and care services, crisis intervention offerings, and basic supply during emergency operations also benefit from stable energy supply to operate smoothly in critical situations.

The acquisition, installation, and renewal costs of the backup power systems are funded in the form of a grant. The continuous funding opportunity begins on January 9, 2024, and runs until the total budget is exhausted. Interested emergency services as well as health and social service providers of the Red Cross Lower Austria are invited to submit applications within the deadline to sustainably strengthen supply security in disaster and emergency situations. A planned approach to project implementation ensures that central infrastructures remain high-performing and ready for deployment at all times.
