Description
The program “Deployment of Successor Moderators” supports Lower Saxony’s Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK) as well as Chambers of Crafts (HWK) in the targeted deployment of qualified professionals to accompany business successions. The committed moderators actively approach and provide initial consultation to potential successors, facilitate contacts between transferors and successors, and promote knowledge transfer about the opportunities and risks of business takeovers through workshops and digital formats. The goal is to secure know-how as well as jobs and training positions in the long term, attract founders—especially women and people with a migration background—and strengthen the start-up climate in Lower Saxony. Public institutions can receive up to 75% of eligible personnel costs (50% ERDF funds, 25% state funds) as a non-repayable grant. The maximum project duration is 36 months.
Eligible to apply are all IHK and HWK with headquarters and operations within the program areas “Transition Region (ÜR)” or “More Developed Region (SER).” Prerequisites include a coherent overall and financing concept, proof of professional and administrative competence, as well as a convincing public relations concept. Additionally, specified quality criteria such as equality, non-discrimination, sustainability, and good work must be met in the scoring model. Applications can be submitted electronically at any time before the project start via the NBank customer portal. Required documents include, among others, the completed application form, a project and overall concept description, proof of the moderators’ competence, and declarations regarding the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and personnel deployment. Interested institutions can obtain all forms and detailed guidelines from the Investment and Development Bank of Lower Saxony (NBank).
