Description

The Kulturstiftung Schloss Wiepersdorf offers national and international artists as well as scholars from the fields of literature, Romanticism and German-German issues, visual arts, and composition a three-month residency at Schloss Wiepersdorf. In this inspiring environment south of Berlin, fellows receive free accommodation, daily meals, and a monthly stipend of €1,200 as well as a one-time material allowance of €480. Studios and workspaces with instruments are available subject to availability; visa costs are also covered. A diverse program of networking opportunities and presentation formats – from readings and workshops to exhibitions – promotes professional exchange and public engagement with the developed projects.

Applicants must hold a completed artistic or academic degree, be currently pursuing a doctorate, or have many years of professional experience, provide work samples, and demonstrate sufficient German or English language skills. Students (except postgraduates/doctoral candidates) as well as former fellows from the past two years are excluded. Selection is based on the quality of previous work and the feasibility of the proposed project by independent expert juries. The residency period from March to November 2027 can be chosen in quarterly segments. The application deadline is April 15, 2026, 11:59 PM CEST. The following documents must be submitted: completed form, CV, project description, work samples, proof of qualification, and information on accessibility needs. An early review of the guidelines ensures a complete application and the opportunity for an inspiring period of research and creation in the historic castle setting.
