Description
The individual case assistance of the Kinderwürde Foundation promotes therapeutically beneficial in-kind services nationwide and therapies not covered by statutory health insurance for people whose trauma in childhood was caused by violence, neglect, or abuse. Private individuals who require financial support for treatment or the acquisition of therapeutic aids can submit an application at any time. Eligible applicants are traumatized individuals who, in addition to a written statement from a doctor, psychiatrist, or psychologist, provide proof of their financial need as well as the completed "Individual Case Assistance" form. The funding rate covers up to 100% of eligible expenses. Therapies already covered by statutory health insurance, assistance dog training and costs, as well as trauma therapies following accidents, illness, or disability, are not supported.
In the selection process, the Kinderwürde Foundation assesses the severity of the trauma suffered, the medical necessity of the requested measures, and the degree of financial need. Funding can be applied for both tangible aids that serve a therapeutic function (for example, special furniture, clothing, or materials) and treatments that are currently not covered by health insurance. Thanks to the flexible application acceptance, affected individuals have access to supportive resources at any time to enable individual healing processes. The non-profit foundation is committed to proceeding with the utmost care in each individual case and restoring the dignity of those affected.
