Description

The individual case support provided by the Foundation of German Police Officers Bremen offers nationwide financial assistance in the form of one-time or recurring grants for employees and beneficiaries of the police as well as other security authorities and their survivors (widows and orphans). Funding is provided to individuals who urgently require help due to physical, mental, or psychological impairments. The aim of the grants is to alleviate acute emergencies and support those affected in regaining autonomous participation in everyday life. The funds are allocated in an uncomplicated manner and can be used in various ways, such as financing therapy or care services or mitigating special life circumstances.

In addition to direct financial aid, the foundation initiates preventive educational and awareness-raising measures for crime prevention and health care. These include, among others, seminars on crime prevention, stress management courses, and nature & wilderness workshops at the foundation’s Finkenbaude Schmilka house in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. Applications can be submitted at any time – there is no fixed deadline. A prerequisite is proof of affiliation with the aforementioned groups as well as documentation of the impairment. The non-profit and charitable foundation was established on October 10, 2003, and operates independently of trade unions. Interested parties can find all important information on the application process directly from the Foundation of German Police Officers Bremen.
