Description
The individual case assistance of the Sports360 Foundation offers nationwide, unbureaucratic support to private families in financial and health-related distress when a child is seriously ill. Earmarked grants enable the financing of therapeutic devices and therapeutic measures (e.g., animal-assisted, movement, or creative therapies), medical aids such as orthoses or wheelchairs, as well as disability-accessible modifications (stair lifts, ramps) and mobility aids (disability-friendly bicycles, rehab buggies). Furthermore, the foundation promotes measures for participation and equal opportunities in education, leisure, and health, and provides assistance for siblings. The goal is to restore joy of life and everyday perspectives to affected families by financially enabling necessary purchases and therapies as soon as other cost bearers have been exhausted or a cost coverage has been denied.
Funding requires proof of financial need according to § 53 No. 2 AO, evidence of the child’s serious illness, as well as submission of cost estimates and rejections from other cost bearers. Applications can be submitted at any time and are evaluated based on the urgency of the emergency, extent of need, and proper documentation. To apply, among other documents, a self-disclosure describing the emergency situation, income statements from the last three months, a current medical report and social report from a counseling center, as well as consent declarations for data processing and photo/film publication must be included.
