Description

The EIRENE Foundation supports international voluntary services within the framework of its weltwärts and IJFD programs, offering young people and adults the opportunity to participate for one year in social, ecological, or peace-related projects. Participants engage in areas such as education, social cohesion and democracy, environmental and climate protection, as well as vocational training and further education, experiencing intercultural exchange processes firsthand. The grant covers travel costs, insurance, and in many cases a monthly allowance, enabling motivated individuals to fully focus on collaboration with local partner organizations. The supported placements are advertised nationwide and offer diverse opportunities in countries of the Global South and Europe.

Applications can be submitted at any time easily via an online application form. A long-term residence permit in Germany (at least three years) is required for non-Germans, an unlimited settlement permit and an age limit of up to 28 years apply for EU, Swiss, or UK nationals; German nationals can participate regardless of age or place of residence. Besides the fully completed online form, no additional documents are necessary. Due to the continuous application process, there is no fixed deadline, allowing interested parties to start their commitment to international cooperation spontaneously and flexibly. This funding is aimed at all those who wish to gain practical experience in global solidarity and contribute to strengthening peaceful, sustainable structures.
