Description
This funding offer within the framework of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD 2023–2027) supports investment measures for the ecological improvement of agricultural and forestry infrastructure as well as for flood risk reduction. In the regions of Burgenland, Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, and Vienna, agricultural and forestry enterprises, agricultural communities, water cooperatives, water associations, as well as municipalities and municipal associations can implement projects ranging from engineering-planned designs through soil protection facilities and decentralized water retention to biotope connectivity systems and planting measures. A prerequisite is professional planning by qualified engineers, proof of all required permits (e.g., water law approval), and integration into the land reform procedure.
Project costs are funded with a subsidy rate ranging from 80% to 90% for planning and surveying costs, structural and engineering-biological measures, acquisition or provision of land, as well as planting and afforestation measures. Implementation can begin no earlier than 01.01.2024 and covers a maximum project duration of 36 months. Applications are continuously accepted until 31.12.2027 via the Digital Funding Platform of Agrarmarkt Austria. Allocation is based on nationwide uniform selection criteria focusing on risk reduction, ecological sustainability, and engineering quality.
