Funding objective

National implementation of the funding measures defined in the GAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027 in the field of nature conservation: investments for the preservation, restoration, and improvement of natural heritage (Measure 73-15), cooperation in nature conservation (77-02), as well as knowledge transfer including awareness-raising, further training, advisory services, plans, and studies for non-agricultural and forestry nature conservation topics (78-03).

Description

The funding program “EAFRD 2023–2027: Nature Conservation – Upper Austria” is aimed at public institutions, interest groups, and non-profit organizations as well as companies wishing to become active in environmental and nature conservation. Through direct grants, investment projects for the preservation, restoration, and improvement of the natural heritage (Measure 73-15) are supported, as well as cooperation projects in nature conservation (77-02) and knowledge transfer initiatives including awareness-raising, further training, consulting, as well as plans and studies on non-agricultural and non-forestry nature conservation topics (78-03). With a total budget of €6.97 million, the program supports innovative approaches to strengthening biodiversity and climate-relevant measures throughout Upper Austria. Applications can be submitted from 02.01.2023 to 31.12.2027 via the Digital Funding Platform of Agrarmarkt Austria.

Funding applicants – ranging from municipalities and associations to agricultural enterprises – use the regional guideline GSP 2023–2027, the Austrian CAP Strategic Plan 2023–2027, and measure-specific information sheets for their applications. Registration on the online platform allows for detailed descriptions of project objectives, investment plans, and cooperation models. By pooling expertise and involving experts, sustainable networks are created that contribute to the long-term protection of sensitive habitats. The program supports not only structural and organizational measures but places special emphasis on the exchange of know-how and educational offerings to make nature conservation in Upper Austria sustainable for the future.
