Description

The Elisabeth Stierle Prize has honored outstanding academic achievements in Baden-Württemberg since 2008 in the fields of reading, mathematics, visual arts, music, and sports. Initiated and awarded by the Donaueschingen Civic Foundation, this accolade recognizes students who impress through exceptional commitment and creative abilities. Prize money totaling €2,400 is available annually and is presented during a ceremonial event at the end of June. Nominations are made by individual educational institutions or the municipal music school, with the selection made by the board of the Civic Foundation. This award provides students with recognition and motivation to further develop their talents and achieve academic excellence.

Eligible to apply are all schools in the region as well as the municipal music school, each of which may propose candidates. Only outstanding academic achievements in the specified subject areas are evaluated. The aim of the award is to promote creative, athletic, and intellectual talents at an early stage and to strengthen the cohesion between schools, the music school, and the non-profit foundation. The Donaueschingen Civic Foundation, founded in 2006 on the initiative of 91 founding donors, invests its proceeds from financial assets and real estate in charitable projects. Through the Elisabeth Stierle Prize, a key contribution is made to sustainably support young talents in education, culture, and sports and to unlock their potential for society.
