Description
The Parent Education Program supports nonprofit organizations throughout Austria in implementing practice-oriented projects aimed at strengthening family education. Funding is provided particularly for parent-child groups, seminars, and workshops that address key parenting topics such as child development, educational goals and styles, as well as relationship building and communication. With an annual total volume of 1.65 million euros, the funding continuously offers grants for innovative and low-threshold services that cater to the diverse needs of parents, single parents, grandparents, stepparents, parents of children with disabilities, and families with intercultural backgrounds. Applications can be submitted online at any time, ensuring timely project starts.
For the application, submission of original invoices and corresponding payment confirmations regarding the use of funds, as well as a final project report, are required. Allocation is based on § 39c of the Family Burden Equalization Act 1967 and aims to create sustainable structures for a harmonious and violence-free family life. Through close support by Section VI – Family and Youth in the Federal Chancellery, applicants receive assistance in complying with formal requirements and professional advice on administrative and accounting matters. Potential recipients thus receive not only financial resources but also expert guidance to noticeably improve the quality of parenting and community within their target groups.
