Description

The Emanuel Goldberg Prize of the Robert Luther Foundation annually honors outstanding dissertations at the Technical University of Dresden in the fields of optoelectronics and photonics. In memory of Prof. Emanuel Goldberg, early-career researchers who have completed their doctorates are recognized for work that demonstrates excellent scientific achievement and high relevance to research and innovation. The prize is open to individuals who have completed or are about to complete their PhD at TU Dresden in the specified disciplines and is specifically aimed at those whose dissertations provide new impulses for optoelectronic and photonic applications. Regions such as Saxony thus benefit from strengthened support for early-career researchers and scientific excellence in both national and international contexts.

The award includes a certificate and a prize sum of 2,000 euros. Application documents must include a concise summary of the dissertation, a recent photograph, and a brief presentation of the academic career. The Foundation’s board evaluates all submissions based on the criteria of “Outstanding Scientific Achievement” and “Relevance to Optoelectronics and Photonics.” The formal award ceremony takes place during a festive colloquium at the beginning of the following year. Continuously announced, the Emanuel Goldberg Prize offers all qualified doctoral candidates at TU Dresden an outstanding platform for recognition of their research results and contributes to the sustainable strengthening of early-career scientific talent in Saxony.
