Description
The nationwide environmental funding for energy-efficient sports facilities enables private individuals, clubs, interest groups, public institutions, and companies to implement building-related investment measures to save final energy in sports venues. The focus is on thermal renovations as well as the use of highly efficient heating, ventilation, lighting, and cooling technologies to sustainably reduce energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. Eligible for funding are sports halls, sports fields, and specialized sports facilities whose primary purpose is physical activity, competition, and training. Applications must be submitted before the first legally binding order, delivery, or start of construction and can be filed between 01.01.2025 and 31.12.2050. A project location in Austria and predominantly sporting use of the building are prerequisites.
Reimbursable expenses include comprehensive or individual thermal renovation measures, conversion to climate-friendly heating systems (e.g., district heating, heat pump, wood heating), energy-saving measures for lighting, ventilation, and heat recovery, as well as efficient cooling technology. Planning and installation costs are also recognized. For the funding application, a fully completed data sheet, a report from the credit institution for investment volumes over €500,000, and additional documents according to the information sheet are required. The complete application submission is made online via the service portal of Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH. Interested project sponsors are encouraged to prepare the documents in a timely manner to ensure a smooth process in the funding procedure and to maximize the climate-relevant benefits of their sports facility.
