Description
Under the title Wage Increase Purpose Subsidy Act (EEZG), the State of Salzburg reimburses employers in the social and healthcare sectors for the actual employer contributions to extraordinary wage increases for nursing and care staff. The goal is full cost coverage (100% funding rate) for monthly increases up to €205 per full-time equivalent. Eligible for funding are companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions employing nursing and care staff in hospitals, long-term care facilities, mobile care services, facilities for disabled work, or spa institutions. Applications for the funding year 2025 can be submitted to the responsible Social Department of the State of Salzburg in the period from 01.01.2026 to 01.03.2026. The duration of the funded measures extends over 12 months from the earliest possible project start date on 01.01.2025.
Only employer costs paid out according to wage-determining regulations as well as the equalization of temporary agency workers, provided the professional requirements are met, are eligible for funding. Eligible occupational groups include, among others, members of the higher-level health and nursing service, nursing assistants, nursing aides, diploma and specialist social care, as well as home help. The following documents are required for the application: a detailed list of the beneficiaries with employee number, gender, and actual incurred costs; a statistical overview by gender, full-time equivalents, and occupational group affiliation; proof of the total amount of extraordinary wage increases paid; the wage-determining regulations; and a binding declaration of commitment from the authorized representative body. This funding supports a sustainable relief for employers and contributes to strengthening the attractiveness of nursing and care professions.
