Development Cooperation

The funding program of the State of Vorarlberg supports projects in the fields of development cooperation as well as agriculture and rural development, which particularly serve the social, health, cultural, or economic interests of the population in developing and partner countries. Eligible to apply are companies, non-profit organizations, public institutions, as well as private individuals whose measures directly contribute to improving local living conditions. Designed as a grant, funding applications can be submitted at any time, enabling flexible planning and implementation of cross-border initiatives.

Supported are services that strengthen the common good and generate sustainable impact. Priority is given to projects that achieve either targeted or long-term effects—whether through the expansion of infrastructural facilities, the promotion of education and health projects, or the strengthening of economic structures. A prerequisite for funding is proof that the measures correspond to the defined funding objectives and measurably contribute to securing or enhancing the common good. The Department of European Affairs of the Office of the Vorarlberg State Government reviews the funding applications and, if necessary, sets conditions. In doing so, the State of Vorarlberg promotes a partnership-based collaboration founded on solidarity and sustainability, sustainably unlocking the potential of all participants.
