EOP – European Opera Directing Prize (M.A.K. Foundation Support)

The EOP – European Opera Directing Prize is awarded every two years by Camerata Nuova in Wiesbaden and Opera Europa in Brussels, receiving financial and ideological support from the M.A.K. Foundation. The aim of this Europe-wide award is to highlight outstanding directing concepts in musical theatre and to promote young directing talents in the field of opera. Since its inception in 2000, the competition has provided numerous emerging artists with a platform to demonstrate innovative ideas and establish initial contacts within the international opera scene. A distinguished jury, comprising artistic directors and experts from across Europe, selects the most convincing entries and honors them with prize money and performance opportunities.

Participation is open to private applicants from all EU member states who wish to impress with artistic ambition and creative prowess. In the categories of Culture, Music, and Culture & Media, the prize not only provides financial support but also draws attention in renowned opera houses and specialist publications.
