Description
The Inventors' Workshop in Hesse invites third-grade students to a hands-on STEM experience at the Children's Academy Fulda. In week-long workshops (four hours daily), school classes relocate their lessons to creatively equipped workshops to explore, in an age-appropriate manner, the history of urban development, renewable energies, electrical circuits, and electromagnetism. Supported by the Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation and Fulda University of Applied Sciences, the concept offers an interactive learning environment that fosters curiosity and teamwork. The dates for 2026 are: February 2–6, February 9–13, May 18–22, August 17–21, September 14–18, November 2–6, and November 9–13.
The initiative aims to spark participating students' interest in physical laws as well as to sharpen manual skills and logical thinking. Through direct engagement with tools and experiments, barriers to technical professions in crafts and industry are reduced. The practical guidance supports the development of a solid STEM foundation and motivates further engagement with scientific questions. Continuous documentation of research results in a personal research journal consolidates the learning success. Educational institutions can submit requests at any time and reserve places for their classes on the specified dates.
