Discretionary Expenditures in the Area of Voluntary Engagement and Participation

The program “Discretionary Expenditures in the Area of Voluntary Engagement and Participation” supports initiatives, associations, municipalities, and private individuals in Vorarlberg who are involved in processes of social cohesion as well as in educational, social, and further training projects. Ongoing grants support projects that network, further educate, qualify, and appreciate civic engagement. The Office for Voluntary Engagement and Participation acts as a central contact point and initiator: it inspires new ideas, provides practical impulses, and offers information and events to strengthen democratic participation. Eligible for funding are all persons and organizations with a registered office or residence in Vorarlberg. Applications can be submitted at any time, thereby enabling spontaneous action and flexible support for innovative small projects.

The aim of the funding is to make voluntary engagement visible and sustainably anchored. Funded measures range from workshops and educational offerings to citizen participation processes and creative neighborhood projects. Applications are subject to simple requirements and are reviewed in an unbureaucratic manner based on the funding objectives.
