Discretionary Expenditures in the Area of Voluntary Commitment and Participation

In the state of Vorarlberg, the Office for Voluntary Engagement and Participation relies on targeted discretionary expenditures in the form of grants to strengthen voluntary engagement and participatory processes. Thematic priorities focus on social cohesion, democracy education, training and further education, as well as labor and social policy issues. The funding program aims to support project ideas that promote networking, qualification, and inspiration among volunteers. Individual educational measures, workshops, and local initiatives are supported, as are recognition programs that highlight voluntary engagement in communities and organizations. Through this initiative, a framework is created in which sustainable participation structures and self-organized forms of action can grow at the local level.

Eligible for funding are interest groups, non-profit associations, initiatives, public institutions, as well as private individuals who practice civic engagement or implement projects in Vorarlberg. A fundamental requirement is compliance with the General Funding Guidelines of the state of Vorarlberg and close coordination with the Office for Voluntary Engagement and Participation. Applications can be submitted continuously until the allocated funding volume is exhausted, ensuring flexible project planning in terms of timing. In particular, project concepts and actions that focus on self-organization, sustainable impact, and empowerment of participants are favored. Engaged actors thus receive reliable financial support to implement their initiatives in the long term and further strengthen democratic participation in Vorarlberg.
