Description
In the funding program "Renewable Energies Brandenburg," the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy and Climate Protection (MWAEK) supports the expansion of floating photovoltaic, agri-photovoltaic, deep geothermal, and fish-friendly hydropower plants through the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (ILB). Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the commercial sector, as well as municipal utilities and energy supply companies, can apply for grants amounting to 45% to 65% of eligible expenses. A prerequisite is that the project begins after the application is submitted, with a minimum investment volume of EUR 200,000 and a payback period of at least three years. Applications can be submitted online via the ILB customer portal until June 30, 2027. Project implementation must be completed within 18 months after approval. Recipients of funding must maintain their registered office or a branch in Brandenburg throughout the entire duration of the grant.
A central objective of this funding is to ensure a secure energy supply and significant CO₂ reductions through the integration of additional renewable energies. Economic viability, technical suitability, and contribution to CO₂ reduction are factors in the selection decision. Eligible expenses include tangible assets, plant and drilling costs, as well as planning services. Research and development projects, services within the scope of the Building Energy Act, and contracts with affiliated companies are excluded. As part of EU co-financing, all procurement processes must comply with EU procurement rules, and recipients must provide transparent documentation of the procurement procedures. The ILB supports all project phases – from application review through reimbursement-based disbursement to reporting and proof of use – to ensure efficient use of funds and achievement of funding objectives.
