Description

The Hamburg Renewable Heat Grant Program specifically supports the expansion of renewable heating solutions in existing and new buildings. Funding is provided for solar thermal, biomass, and geothermal systems, electrically operated heat pumps including ancillary measures, heat storage, as well as the expansion and modernization of heat distribution networks. Innovative multiple uses of areas for heat provision are also considered. Eligible applicants include private owners, commercial enterprises, non-profit organizations (e.g., associations, foundations, churches), as well as service providers with contracting agreements in Hamburg. The grant can be flexibly applied for via the IFB Hamburg’s e-application portal before the start of the measure and requires compliance with recognized technical standards.

Eligible costs are the pure investment costs for the construction, expansion, or modernization of the aforementioned systems, excluding funding under the KWKG or EEG as well as measures for process heat. The maximum funding amount is EUR 500,000 per project. Conditions for approval include, among others, proof of ownership, cost estimates or offers, and registration of the executing craft business in the crafts register. A project may only commence after the explicit approval of the granting authority. Combination with other KfW or BAFA programs is possible, provided that the respective program requirements are met. Through this continuously available offer, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg makes a significant contribution to CO₂ reduction and strengthens the energy independence of buildings.
