Description

The initial orientation courses for asylum seekers and immigrants are supported nationwide by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) as a time-limited grant. Funded are language and orientation courses with up to 300 teaching units, structured according to the current BAMF concept in six coordinated modules. The mandatory module "Values and Living Together" imparts fundamental knowledge of social customs, democratic principles, and the legal system. The aim is to facilitate participants' arrival through a practical introduction to the German language and way of life, as well as to foster understanding of social processes, norms, and values. Participants aged between 18 and 65 meet like-minded individuals, exchange ideas in small groups, and thus prepare for further integration offers.

Eligible to apply are registered associations with at least one year of experience in refugee work in the respective federal state, nationwide non-profit organizations focusing on refugee assistance or adult education, as well as adult education centers and adult education associations. The courses are explicitly not intended for school-age individuals and comprise ten to twenty participants per group. A co-financing of five percent of the total costs is required, with the remaining 95 to 100 percent covered by the BMI. Applications are submitted continuously via the electronic form system easy-Online after selecting the respective state center. Required are a detailed project description, a financing and cost plan, as well as a statement from the municipality supporting the project and confirming its necessity. This funding program thus makes an important contribution to sustainable integration and helps strengthen social cohesion.
