Description
Since January 1, 2020, a continuous grant program in Styria has been supporting disability-related additional costs in the area of upbringing and education. The legal basis is the agreement pursuant to Art. 15a B-VG as well as the Styrian Disability Assistance Act. This funding opportunity in the field of social affairs and education is aimed at families with children and adolescents and seeks to cover all necessary services that ensure educational support corresponding to the individual’s capabilities and inclinations. This particularly includes costs for early intervention, special education-oriented care and support in kindergartens and after-school care centers, as well as participation in regular classes and school-related events. Thanks to the unlimited funding period and the possibility to apply at any time, additional expenses are comprehensively considered, thereby sustainably strengthening equal opportunities in education and training.
Private individuals can avail themselves of the funding provided the child is recognized as disabled within the meaning of the Styrian Disability Assistance Act and the disability-related additional needs are professionally determined. Eligible expenses include all costs directly related to care, support, or participation in school activities – from special education early intervention to additional expenses for care without pedagogical services, as well as costs for teaching materials, school trips, or excursions. Since there is no application deadline, submissions are possible throughout the year. Through targeted funding, families are relieved, and children with disabilities receive the best possible support for an inclusive educational biography.
