Description
The ESF funding guideline 2021–2027 promotes labor market-related and employment policy initiatives as well as training, further education, and continuing education measures, including integration projects, in North Rhine-Westphalia using funds from the European Social Fund. Funded are projects that support adaptation to digital and demographic changes, enable inclusive participation, and drive social innovation. Eligible applicants include start-ups, educational institutions, private individuals, companies, and public institutions implementing projects in the fields of work, education and training, counseling, business financing, promotion of women, and social affairs. The implementation of measures must take place in NRW and comply with the provisions of the funding guideline as well as the relevant individual programs. Continuous submission of applications ensures flexible planning and implementation of project ideas to strengthen the regional labor market.
Funding is provided as a grant and is proportionate to the type and scope of the measure. Priority focuses are on preparing a just transition to a climate-neutral economy, promoting disadvantaged groups, and developing digital skills. Comprehensive advisory and support services accompany the application process and project implementation, with responsible regional agencies providing information on the selection of suitable individual programs. With a view to sustainable impact, the state of NRW supports projects that increase employment opportunities in the long term, unlock potential in structurally weak regions, and strengthen social cohesion through innovative approaches.
