Description
This free nationwide educational program invites pedagogical professionals in daycare centers, together with children aged three to six, to playfully explore the origin and production process of (organic) food. Through an interactive six-week email course, participants receive weekly practical impulses, printable materials, and digital learning modules that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday daycare routines. The goal is to foster an early childhood awareness of healthy nutrition and sustainable lifestyles through sensory and emotional learning experiences, enabling children to discover food with all their senses. The continuous alignment with the educational curricula of the federal states and the principles of education for sustainable development ensures a well-founded didactic support.
Following the purely online phase, an excursion to an organic experience site or a nationwide partner business takes place, engaging all the senses: whether on the orchard meadow grounds, in the organic bakery, or on the ecologically managed farm – the daycare group experiences production steps, animal husbandry, or processing procedures on-site and concludes by preparing a meal together from fresh, regional ingredients. The funding covers 100% of the program costs; only self-organized visits must be financed independently. Interested educational institutions can register at any time, as there are no application deadlines. The combination of online modules and practical experiences creates a sustainable learning effect, opening new perspectives on nutrition and environmental protection for children and professionals alike.
