Description

European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) in Baden-Württemberg is the central EU instrument for investments in education and training, employment, as well as combating poverty and social exclusion. The state strategy for the funding period 2021–2027 emphasizes sustainable employment, lifelong learning, equal opportunities, active social participation, and social innovation. Projects that improve labor market access for job seekers, create flexible further training and retraining opportunities, strengthen professional mobility, and ensure gender equality are particularly supported. Another focus lies on the social inclusion of disadvantaged groups through activating measures and non-discriminatory structures in the work environment.

Eligible applicants include companies, educational institutions, municipalities, chambers, associations, and other public or non-profit organizations as project sponsors. To be granted a subsidy, a fully completed application, a detailed project description, and compliance with the respective funding guidelines are required. The funding amount depends on the type and scope of the measure. Ongoing project calls allow for flexible application submissions, whereby, for example, specialist courses and part-time training can be applied for until 21.07.2025. A comprehensive guide on funding requirements, application forms, and funding guidelines supports the preparation of the documents.
