Description
The EUTB® counseling service of the Frankfurt Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers free, independent, and confidential peer counseling for deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their relatives throughout Hesse. In the areas of education, work, housing, and leisure, individually tailored information on rehabilitation and participation benefits is provided. Professionals with their own hearing impairment or well-qualified experts are involved, who also provide counseling in German Sign Language. Through this complementary, low-threshold approach, barriers are reduced and self-determined participation in all areas of life is promoted. The counseling is 100% funded as a grant and can be accessed at any time via online appointment scheduling. This ensures uncomplicated support and sustainably strengthens participation opportunities.
The foundation purpose of the Frankfurt Foundation for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a non-profit institution under public law, is to empower people with hearing impairments and raise societal awareness of their needs. In addition to the EUTB® counseling service, the offerings include sign language courses, empowerment seminars, a barrier-free experiential exhibition, and the rental of accessible rooms and apartments. Through the comprehensive education, counseling, and cultural program, an inclusive network is created in which affected individuals and their environment are supported on an ongoing basis. The complementary independent participation counseling makes a significant contribution to equal participation and accompanies participants on their path to greater self-determination and quality of life.
