Export Guarantees for Exporters

The export guarantees of Oesterreichische Kontrollbank Aktiengesellschaft (OeKB) provide Austrian companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, with reliable protection against payment default risks in cross-border transactions. Through the assumption of guarantees by the public sector, both economic and political risks are covered, which are often excluded by the private credit insurance market. In cooperation with partner banks, secured export receivables can be financed cost-effectively, enabling exporters to quickly obtain liquidity while simultaneously offering their customers flexible payment terms. OeKB acts as the central export credit agency and leverages its excellent creditworthiness to pass on refinancing advantages to domestic companies, thereby strengthening international competitiveness.

Eligible for funding are companies with headquarters and operational activities in Austria that conduct ongoing export business abroad. The focus is on SMEs that wish to sustainably protect their foreign receivables against economic and political risks. Applications can be submitted from March 1, 2024, until December 31, 2040, at the latest. The objective of this measure is to minimize payment defaults and secure export volumes to facilitate companies' growth in external markets. By combining guarantees and financing, OeKB addresses the specific needs of export-oriented companies and promotes their long-term market presence under secured conditions.
