Description

In Vienna, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, educational institutions, as well as public authorities can receive grants for preventive initiatives against extremist tendencies. The funding offer is aimed at project sponsors engaged in diverse fields of action promoting social cohesion and democratic participation. The focus is on measures against antisemitism, racism, radicalizing conspiracy theories, gender-based devaluation, as well as hate and discrimination against LGBTIQ+ persons. Additionally, the support funds programs that strengthen volunteer work in extremism prevention. Thanks to ongoing submission deadlines, applications can be initiated at any time, enabling timely project starts. Financial support is provided as a direct grant and aims to advance sustainable networks, educational work, and low-threshold formats throughout Vienna.

Interested applicants submit a complete dossier with a coherent project concept and a detailed financing plan in accordance with the requirements of the General Framework Guidelines (ARR 2014). Required documents include the current BMSGPK funding application with all attachments, the project concept, and the financial plan in the specified Excel template. Submission can be informal; however, electronic identification is recommended. After a positive funding commitment, contractually stipulated reporting and accounting obligations must be observed. The initiative’s goals are to strengthen democratic values, raise awareness among diverse target groups, and establish long-term prevention networks in the state capital.
