Support for the initial and second-time cooperation (consultation/research contract) of Upper Austrian small and medium-sized enterprises with research institutions for the development of concepts, the implementation of initial steps, and for small R&D projects.

Description
The State Funding Program R&D Impulse TEAM supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Upper Austria in their first or second cooperation with research institutions. In the period from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2026, targeted consulting sessions and contract research projects will be funded to develop concepts for research projects, realize initial implementation steps, or carry out smaller R&D projects. The program aims to unlock innovation potential, strengthen competitiveness, and create an incentive effect for further research collaborations. Funding is provided in the form of a non-repayable grant ("de minimis aid") and covers invoiced and paid costs of the involved R&D institution. Eligible to apply are companies headquartered in Upper Austria that are members of the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce or the Chamber of Architects and Consulting Engineers for Upper Austria and Salzburg.
A prerequisite for a positive funding commitment is a prior consultation within the framework of the TIM initiative as well as subsequent mediation to a research institution by the same initiative. Among other documents, the following must be submitted with the application: project proposal including attachments, confirmation of the TIM consultation, proof of TIM mediation, and chamber membership. The application must be submitted to the Department of Economy and Research of the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government before the project starts. The submission deadline is 31.12.2026. With the R&D Impulse TEAM, the State of Upper Austria makes an important contribution to strengthening innovation networks and sustainable jobs in research and business.
