Description

The Bavarian Cultural Fund supports innovative special projects of non-governmental archives with supraregional or cross-local impact throughout Bavaria – excluding Munich and Nuremberg – within the framework of the F3 funding program. Private initiatives, municipal sponsors, club and association structures, as well as foundations, can apply for projects starting at €10,000. Only clearly defined project costs are eligible for funding, which are subsidized up to a maximum of 30%. The maximum amount per project is €1 million. Multiple funding from other state programs is excluded, and initial project activities must not have commenced. Project ideas are evaluated based on their substantive quality and their significance in the supraregional context. Thus, the F3 funding makes an important contribution to the preservation and further development of the cultural memory in Bavaria’s regions.

Applications must be submitted exclusively online to the respective competent district government by October 1 of the previous year. The submission must include information on the event location, the project period, and a list of the objects to be presented. The application review is conducted internally by the authorities and culminates in the spring with the funding decision by the State Ministry for Science and the Arts. The aim is to enable non-governmental archives and their sponsors to implement exceptional event formats, exhibitions, and documentation projects that have an impact beyond local boundaries. Interested project managers can find all relevant information on the Bavarian Cultural Fund’s website.
