Description
The Free State of Bavaria supports outstanding cultural projects of non-governmental libraries outside the cities of Munich and Nuremberg through the F4 funding program. One-time special projects of supra-local or supra-regional significance that enrich the cultural offerings throughout Bavaria are funded. Grants can cover up to 30% of eligible project costs and, depending on budget availability, amount to a maximum of 1 million euros. Prerequisites include total costs of at least 10,000 euros and a project start after approval. Ongoing operating costs or projects already underway are excluded from funding. Simultaneous funding from other state programs is also not permitted.
Applications must be submitted annually by October 1st via the respective district government; decisions are made in the spring of the following year. Information on the location and duration of the event as well as a substantive description of the special project must be attached. Selection is based on the content quality and the supra-local or supra-regional significance of the project. Sponsors of public institutions and foundations wishing to implement library-specific initiatives beyond everyday operations will find in this funding offer a tailored contact point to make their projects highly visible and tangible.
