Description
The Family Relief Service in Styria supports people with disabilities and relieves caregiving relatives through mobile, hourly care in the familiar environment. As a subsidy, the program promotes companies and non-profit organizations that cooperate as private-law disability facilities with a written service contract with the Styrian State Government. The goal is to provide the primary caregiver with a break from everyday care duties while simultaneously ensuring a self-determined life for people with intellectual, cognitive, physical, sensory, or multiple impairments without residential placement. Thanks to the ongoing submission possibility since November 12, 2013, the subsidy can be applied for at any time, ensuring flexibility in deployment planning and lasting relief.
Funding is provided for people with disabilities living in the family who can present a valid decision, as well as their caregiving relatives. In addition to proof of disability, a prerequisite is care by a primarily responsible person within the family environment. These framework conditions ensure that the funding is targeted where it has the greatest relief effect. Interested organizations can find all detailed funding criteria and application documents at Department 11 – Social Affairs of the Styrian State Government. The Family Relief Service thus opens up new opportunities to noticeably relieve caregiving family members and sustainably improve the quality of life of those affected.
