Description

The "Family Support/Partner Support for Civil Servants" grant assists private individuals residing in Vienna during the performance of ordinary or extraordinary civil service. It covers essential maintenance payments for spouses, registered partners, children, and other legally entitled dependents. The aim is to provide financial security for close family members so that they do not fall into financial hardship despite the service obligation. Eligible applicants are civil servants who are required by law or due to family allowance entitlements to provide maintenance.

Applications can be submitted continuously from the date of delivery of the legally binding assignment notice; for retroactive benefits, submission is required within three months of the start of service. Supporting documents include, among others, registration confirmation, marriage or partnership certificate, children’s birth certificates, as well as proof of maintenance obligation or a valid maintenance agreement. The application is supplemented by wage and income statements and the bank details of the supported person. Since the grant is available indefinitely, applications can be submitted at any time—ideally promptly after the start of service to ensure entitlement to benefits from the first month.
