Description
The funding program “District Heating Connection < 100 kW” supports companies, interest groups, and associations throughout Austria in the new installation, conversion, and renewal of environmentally and climate-friendly heat generators with a thermal output of under 100 kW. Funding is provided particularly for pellet, wood chip, and log wood boilers, heat pumps, as well as all system components for connection to local and district heating networks. Funds are available as non-repayable grants; applications can be submitted from 01.03.2024 to 31.12.2050. For businesses affected by the 2024 flood events, eased conditions apply until 31.12.2025, including the removal of the district heating priority and an additional location bonus. The funds are awarded by Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH within the framework of the Operational Environmental Funding in Austria (UFI), co-financed by federal and EU funds.
Only projects from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as entrepreneurial organizations, associations, and denominational institutions with a permanent location in Austria are eligible for funding. A prerequisite is the submission of the application within six months of the invoice date and the restriction to heat generators under 100 kW. Eligible costs include planning, installation, dismantling and disposal, pipelines, pumps, valves, heat storage, transfer stations, as well as integration into the existing heating system. A demonstrable increase in energy efficiency, a high share of renewable energies, and climate-friendly heat supply increase the chances of receiving funding approval. Contact persons receive all necessary information regarding application review, accounting, and additional regional funding directly from Kommunalkredit Public Consulting GmbH.
