Festival Presentation XR / Innovative Audiovisual Content

Festival Presentation XR / Innovative Audiovisual Content enables the visibility of immersive virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences as well as comparable audiovisual innovations at national and international festivals in Berlin and Brandenburg. The funding is provided as a grant by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH, the central funding and film commission of the capital region. The goal is to make novel technologies and innovative storytelling accessible to a broad audience and to support producers and developers in presenting their XR projects. A one-pager, a detailed budget, and a financing plan form the basis for an individual application consultation, which must be completed no later than two weeks before the submission deadline. Upon positive review, access to the application platform will be granted.

Eligible for funding are companies, private individuals, and non-profit organizations from the cultural and media sectors who wish to showcase their projects at selected festivals. The submission of complete documents is possible until 21.07.2026. Funding requirements include: submission of the one-pager six weeks before the deadline, scheduling an application consultation with a funding officer based on the one-pager, budget, and financing plan, as well as participation in a final consultation prior to platform activation. This measure is particularly aimed at producers and developers of multiplatform content who realize immersive experiences and intend to sustainably expand their reach through festival appearances. This initiative strengthens the position of the capital region as a pioneer for creative XR formats and promotes exchange between the technology and media industries.
