Description
The project funding "Film, Video and Media Art" of the State of Carinthia supports creative initiatives in the fields of short and art films, experimental and avant-garde films, as well as documentaries. Also funded are innovative digital media formats, digital image productions, and measures to strengthen film education and competence. Natural and legal persons, companies, and non-profit organizations with residence, company headquarters, or thematic connection to Carinthia can submit a funding application online at any time. The funds are granted as non-repayable grants and are available without limitation from the project start in 2026. The goal is to invigorate cinematic creation in Carinthia, strengthen support for emerging talent, and promote public awareness of new media. Both creative new projects and individual undertakings implemented in artistic, documentary, or experimental form are eligible for funding. Department 14 – Art and Culture of the Office of the Carinthian State Government accompanies interested parties throughout the entire process and provides informational materials, guidelines, and online forms.
Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material costs, travel, publications, media productions, and technology costs. Applications must be submitted before the project begins, with a fully completed, digitally signed form. Allocation is based on the criteria of innovation content, Carinthia relevance, relevance to the target group, and cost-effectiveness. The proof of use includes original receipts and an activity report; for larger amounts, consolidated total income and expenditure lists must be submitted. Funded projects must be marked with the logo "State of Carinthia Art and Culture" in all publications and promotional materials. Dates and detailed funding conditions can be found on the Culture Channel platform of the State of Carinthia.
