Description
The basic funding ÖFI+ supports Austrian feature film productions in Vienna as a location-based grant initiative through automatic disbursement upon fulfillment of defined funding criteria. With the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the national film industry, the program improves planning security for operating and personnel costs of Austrian production companies. Additionally, incentives are created for environmentally sustainable production and a balanced gender distribution. By steering along recognized tax-relevant costs, ÖFI+ contributes to increasing value creation in Austria and enhancing the attractiveness of the film location. The funding applies from 01.01.2023 and runs until the annual budget of EUR 0.4 million is exhausted.
Eligible for funding are public institutions, in particular the Austrian Film Institute, as well as all actors involved in feature film production who cover operating expenses and personnel costs in Austria. A prerequisite for the grant is compliance with the requirements of the financing and performance agreement. Continuous application submission is possible as long as funds are available. The automatic disbursement mechanism eliminates a complex selection process for project managers and creates immediate planning security. Thus, the funding makes an important contribution to sustainably anchoring the production environment of film-artistic projects in Austria and setting future-oriented impulses for an innovative film industry.
