Description
Films on the Move supports the cinematographic and digital distribution of recent non-national European films as a pan-European grant. The program aims to assist sales companies as well as cinema and online distributors in developing and implementing targeted distribution and promotion strategies. With a view to sustainable industry development, investments in pan-European cinema and online distribution campaigns are promoted to increase the reach and visibility of European film works. Eligible participants are companies based and operating in an EU member state that can ensure their financial and operational capacity as well as independence and are engaged in international film distribution.
Eligible expenses include, among others, P&A costs (Promotion & Advertising), the design and implementation of environmentally friendly campaigns, and measures for sustainable distribution. For the application, the standard application form (CREA MEDIA), the form on independence and ownership control, an international film sales agreement, the PDF data extract from the Creative Europe MEDIA database, as well as letters of intent from the participating distributors are required. The application start date is 30 September 2025, with two cut-off dates on 19 March 2026 and 16 July 2026 (each at 17:00 CEST). This deadline structure allows for flexible project planning and ensures that selected film projects can be quickly transitioned into the implementation phase. Films on the Move thus strengthens the international competitiveness of European film productions and promotes a diverse film culture in the long term.
